There's more to dancing than just learning the steps, says Debbie Favot, owner of The Dance Zone in Vaughan. Since 1998, Debbie has taught thousands of young dancers the value of technique, the importance of performance and the benefits of style and creativity. Debbie's programs are designed to help students develop a love for dance in such a way they dance from somewhere inside dancing with the feet is one thing, dancing from the heart is another.

Dancing since she was 4 years old, Debbie has a passion to teach, a passion to win and a passion for students to achieve their best. That passion and dedication has earned The Dance Zone, the 2009 and the 2010 Reader's Choice Award as Best Dance Studio. "Treating people with honesty and respect and making the commitment to ensuring the kids are having fun in both the recreational and competitive programs are what we believe in," says Debbie. "We treat all the students as if they were our own kids."

World-renowned  Dancer and Choreographer and Emmy award winner Mia Michaels visited The Dance Zone for a guest appearance and workshop in 2008. Mia Michaels has become famous for her work with such artists as Prince & Madonna and more recently for her work as a choreographer and judge on the popular tv shows So You Think You Can Dance Canada and US. Over 30 girls attended the workshop and will forever remain one of their most memorable days at the studio.

The Dance Zone participated in The Starpower Talent Competition World Championships in Orlando, Florida that took place from June 30 July 4 2010. They won the National Championships FDC studio excellence award beating out twenty-six other studios across North America! They took home several first place finishes including the prestigious Victory Cup for their 8 and under jazz group "The Twist". Madelain Basso won title for Petite Miss Starpower with Deanna Romano as 2nd place runner up. Paulina Macias won Junior Miss Starpower with Aly Moore as 1st runner up. Nadia Antonangeli was 1st place runner up for Teen Miss Starpower.
